Subjects Removed from the Exam

Subjects Removed from the FL Bar Exam—Effective Immediately!

On January 29, 2020, the Supreme Court of Florida announced that Florida Juvenile Delinquency Law and Florida Dependency Law will no longer be tested on the Florida Bar Exam. Woohoo!

Quoting the Florida Bar:

“Juvenile delinquency and dependency will no longer be among the possible topics covered on Part A of the Florida bar exam.”

“Acting on its own motion, the Supreme Court on January 22 amended Rule 4-22 of the Supreme Court Rules Relating to Admissions to the Bar.”

“’We remove these two subject areas because … these subjects test specialized knowledge falling outside the general competency that the General Bar Examination is intended to test[.]’” Read the FL Bar’s website >

Quoting the Supreme Court of Florida:

“These amendments shall take effect immediately upon the release of this opinion and will apply prospectively, beginning with the [February] 2020 examination.” Read the Official Opinion >
